I am not even sure if influence is something that can and should be measured. If you can sway opinions, no one cares about your scores. Can at the best be an ego booster or a marketing tool, nothing more!

Thanks for dropping by the post Mark, it matters!!

Let me say, am not against Klout, but its just that I do not want Klout let me judge you. If you’re an amazing content creator or aggregatore, I’m going to follow you irrespective of the Klout scores.

And since, the system can be gamed & their algo can change any time, I always take the scores with a grain of salt.

Indeed Eve, your point it valid. Client ask for it & we give. But is it really a fair assessment!? Show me your work & am fine to judge you. But based on Klout score, I will take those scores with a grain of salt .

Yes, you give a proof that you’re excellent, but is it the true reflection of your work. What if you fail at the task. Doesn’t that happen to people who got creative at getting marks, but found it hard to survive in a real situation. That’s what happens when you game a system

Yes, you give a proof that you’re excellent, but is it the true reflection of your work. What if you fail at the task. Doesn’t that happen to people who got creative at getting marks, but found it hard to survive in a real situation. That’s what happens when you game a system.

Having a Klout score is just like having a Degree for your College Education.
No one knows How Creative you really are but everyone demands for a proof that is quantitative i.e your Marksheet !

Since Social media is now in the real of marketing depts, they always look for ROI. And all the social media strategists keep pushing measurement. Given that, we each need our own personal ROI and our own personal measurement. Whats fair for our clients should be fair for us. Hence the dreaded Klout score. My neighbor drives a Porsche but only has a Klout score of 33.. Ha ha ha. What a loser
