5 Best Social Media Post for Week #47

Social Media Top 5An interesting week gone past with one part of the world celebrating ‘Thanksgiving’ while the other part went into sort of war and life was more than usual around me. Though there were indeed some tense moments for the Indian Social Media fraternity with arrest of 2 girls for their post on Facebook.

This week, I tried to focus on getting more traffic to this blog. While having great SEO and commenting are oft repeated techniques, I was looking for something beyond that and that’s how I landed on the first post.

Then I delve more into tools and metrics that will help keep track of your blog and other social engagement. Read on…

5 Great posts about traffic for your blog leveraging Social Media

  1. The post ‘9 Killer Ways To Get Traffic Without SEO Or Social Media‘ by Mark Trueman made perfect sense for me, when I wanted to leverage steps beyond the traditional SEO game. While I am not really sure about how ‘Viral Content Buzz’ works since I have some great friends with Triberr, since those platforms are as good as you use it. Otherwise, I loved the point about doing interviews and being case study. Read the post, implement the techniques and let us know how it helped.
  2. One more technique to influence traffic is by automating your social media activities. Since, Social Media activity spans across the globe, it humanly impossible to be around 24×7 and that’s where automation helps. But then there are pitfalls to it too, since engagement cannot be automated. Read this interview ‘#SocialChat Discusses Social Media Automation with Patrick McKeown‘ with Patrick McKeown, where he shares his views on social media automation. How much do you automate your activities?
  3. Then I saw this article ‘6 Tips for a Perfectly Timed Facebook Post‘ by Jeff Hadden and it started making sense on how important timing could be. You may have lot of automation in place, but end of the day, people do look forward to engage with you and you should be around to respond to them ASAP. He has nicely used the term ‘success breeds success’. Have you experimented with timing your posts? What are you best times?
  4. Now that I had a blog and so to say generating good traffic, I stared looking for some metrics that would help me keep track of my efforts and I did not look beyond this post ’65 Metrics To Track Blog Success’ by Heidi Cohen. These 65 metrics were more than what I would have even thought of and it would make perfect sense if you can track as many of them. And I also wouldn’t have imagined how important an ‘About Me’ page is. Which ones do you track? What tools do you use for tracking?
  5. And finally, I could not resist sharing this post by Cindy King listing ‘24 Social Media Marketing tools‘ . While there are few of the tools that I regularly utilize for my Social Media activities like – Commun.it, Buffer, Scoop.it many of them were kind of unheard of. Am going to try as many out of those, while I would always recommend Commun.it as a de-facto Twitter Management tool. Do you use any of them? How frequently?
That the view of my week.
