In the digital media industry, it is said that using visuals is a great way to tell stories. And Flipboard helps you do exactly that!

If you are someone who loves Pinterest, then you must take a look at Flipboard. Unlike Pinterest which gives you a card-like layout, Flipboard gives you a magazine layout with a cover image spread across the screen.

To read the magazines, simply ‘flip’ through articles just as you would while reading paper publications.

Find this interesting??

In fact I did. Though I used the app sparingly, it was not until Aïda Boucheron mentioned Flipboard magazines in a conversation that I got hooked. I have since created a few magazines of my own.

Flipboard has become one of my go-to apps for social bookmarking and content curation too. There is much more you can do with it. If downloading the app on your device seems painful, you have the option to read magazines on the web.

Looking to create your own magazine or want to play around with cover images for your magazines? Simply log in to the ‘Editor‘ which lets you do a host of things – sharing, toggling between private/public magazine, reorganizing your articles, and so forth.

Here is a list of my top five articles on Flipboard to give you a head start. They include tips on how to create flipboard magazines, and some practical examples.

What more can you do?
