The year 2013 saw some important Google Search Update – Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, etc.

All throughout the year, we saw Matt Cutts sharing updates and telling everyone to be careful on content writing, linking, marketing.

With each update, Google was trying to weed out spammers and present seemingly legitimate content.

But the best came with the Hummingbird update. In this update, Google completely changed the way how content can be searched and present. We came across the term ‘Semantic Search’ for the first time and thus it was a great step by the search engine to understand and process conversational queries.

  1. Excellent inforgraphic, Malhar. I loved the way you chronologically presented all the updates. May I ask you a question? Which tools did you use to do this? I’ve been wanting to do infographics for some time now and I would love to use a good tool. Of-course the infographic can only be as good as the information presented and so great job on that.
