Twitter Engagement has become a buzzword for many in the social media industry. Twitter provides a unique opportunity for brands to connect directly with its customers and prospects alike.
For brands to connect with customers/prospects it is essential that they communicate with them and that in a nutshell defines everything about Twitter Engagement.
Unlike Facebook Insights, which shows the PTAT score, we do not have anything like that to measure Twitter Engagement at this point of time. But that doesn’t stop people from bringing out relevant statistics for Twitter Engagement. So you would mostly see reach and impressions as the measure of brands engagement.
While, I use the following tricks to drive my Twitter engagement, you might have a different way to do it:
1. Twitter List
2. Twitter Chat
3. Use appropriate Hashtag
And what I miss doing sometimes:
1. Updating my Twitter Header
2. Not responding to every tweet (this is really bad, I tell you)
This week though, I have tried to do things differently as I embed my List.ly list to this article.
What you can do
1. Comment on this post.
2. Add your favorite post about Twitter Engagement
3. Share your Twitter Engagement best practices

I really like Malhar’s concept of growing a follower base organically……can I get more info on that?
Sharon – There’s no magic bullet to grow follower base organically. I rely on plain old interactions and engage with as many as possible.
One thing that worked for me very well though is, interactions over Twitter Chats. You might want to do that.
You might also want to have a look at commun.it. They provide great insights about your Twitter activity.
Thanks so much for the reply Malhar. I am developing a Twitter course for Job Search at our non-profit organization (www.ometz.ca) and am open to all suggestions.
